A New Dawn for CaringSG: Reflections and Hopes for 2025

Our Blog

Dear fellow caregivers and friends,

Today, the new dawn of 2025 brings new joy and hope for CaringSG. On 1 January 2025, I will take up the new role as Emeritus Chair and Ambassador of CaringSG, and officially step down as honorary CEO.

The helm of CaringSG is now in the steady hands of Mr Edwin Tan, a passionate veteran of Singapore’s social service sector of nearly 3 decades. Since joining us in July 2024, Edwin has led our dedicated CaringSG team successfully in several campaigns and projects, including the Uplift Campaign, CaringSG Family Day, the Purple Parade and CAREforward campaign. With his dynamic and compassionate leadership, I am confident that CaringSG will scale greater heights to support more caregivers and build a stronger Singapore.

As we look back at the past few years since CaringSG’s inception in October 2020, we are greatly heartened to witness the paradigm shifts in the caregiving scene that CaringSG has catalysed in Singapore. Our success does not come easy. It is through unitycollaboration and compassion

We started as a united founding community of about 40 caregivers and 50 professional allies in 2020. Today, CaringSG is a family of more than 5000 members, with more than 4000 caregivers and an alliance of 23 caregiver support groups. Our caregiver beneficiaries have received support through more than 22,000 touchpoints in our 3i programmes and Step One programme. We have trained more than 150 volunteers and started 8 CAREkaki neighbourhood chapters to strengthen our outreach. More upscaling efforts are planned for 2025 and beyond. In addition, CaringSG exemplifies balanced advocacy through close collaborative efforts with public stakeholders, more than 150 community partners and inclusive corporates to bring forth multiple impactful national initiatives. All these are only possible through sheer grit and determination, which only one with true compassion can muster.

The past has been invigorating, the present inspiring, and the future inviting. With your continual support, I believe CaringSG will grow from strength to strength, and all caregivers in Singapore will be healthier and happier in this new year and years ahead.

Blessings,

Dr Lim Hong Huay
Emeritus Chair and Ambassador, CaringSG
